I'm really amazed that I've kept my original Gamecube controller in working condition. I remember when my friends and I used to play Brawl a lot and the biggest problem we had was having enough (working) Gamecube controllers. We would fight over who got the controller without the sticky A button all the time lol.

I've used the same gamecube controller since Melee. It'll never die.

Don't jinx it. GC controllers can be finicky.

I have 2 original controllers that work fine and 2 knock off ones that are pretty much broken now. They stopped working well after like 2 weeks.

I found the gamecube controllers necessary for Brawl since the Wiimote sucked, but with the Wii U I felt like the Pro controller was better than gamecube. I've never used a Switch yet so I don't know what its controller(s) are like.

Pretty good. Personally I have no problem with any way you use the controller(s). Holding them seperately in two different hands feel very natural and you need more control over what you do, attaching them to either the switch screen or the dog body (lack of a better word) it feels very good still. The Pro Controller feels very much like the Wii U Pro Controller, so you'd definitely like it.

But I'd use GC controller for Smash still, that's how I've always played the game.

The ones that connect to the wii controllers aren't bad tbh.

Yeah, I have two of those. I don't know if you can still use the Wiimotes for Switch, but it was possible to play Smash 4 with those controllers connected to the Wiimote.

Yeah and Idk either. I should try, but I doubt you can play Switch with wii motes.

I'm actually willing to give the switch control or some future modification of it a chance to replace the Game Cube controller.

I used the gamepad for a little while on Smash Wii U since it was similar to 3DS. But as soon as I got an adapter to use my GC controller (or I had a GC plug in one to wii mote) it was vastly superior. It just works so much better for me to use a GC controller. Everything on it just muscle memory and it'd be hard for me to switch to the switch controller.
